While I tend to disagree with this statement as it applies to the entertainment industry, I am wondering if perhaps there is some truth to your statement with regard to the Grimm fairytales themselves. For instance, Sleeping Beauty's rape is not called rape, but instead termed a "gathering of the first fruits of love", according to Wiki.
Bringing this into the present, there have been a lot of arguments here that Adalind herself did not rape Nick, but was doing Viktor's bidding. So were the showrunners really trying to say that, while she was taking Nick's grimm, she also was "gathering of the first fruits of love"?
