Yes she could have fought back but it could have cost Kelly his life -- Diana hadn't met her brother yet -- and had not formed an attachment to him.
And what happened after Black Claw was defeated? Adalind ended up right back in the fome, spending Nick's money and driving his car. The only difference is that Diana joined them from time to time.
There are many fans who act as though Adalind turned into this good person so that Nick would love her. I'm saying that it wasn't all that hard. As long as she's under Nick's scrutiny, she has no choice.
What I recall was a season 6 that was cut short by half, 22 episodes reduced to 13.
There wasn't much time to expand the Adalind character to look for employment.
The 1st few episodes of season six was spent on tying up loose ends after the aftermath and the downfall of BC.
At this time, why would Adalind want to go back to the same law firm we saw trap her for Bonaparte?
We then had a few WoW episodes. While mending some lost relationships , plus reining in Sean Renard.
Then we had the LOVE episode, causing some wet panties, for a few viewers, seeing Nick and Evette, almost getting back together.
Then we had the Zerstorer episodes.
Where the hell was the time to cramp in the character development to make Adalind a self sufficient, single parent, independent professional woman? Maybe, if the producers had another 9 or 10 episodes to do such a feat, they could of, but they didn't.
In the end, based on Kelly's accounts. Adalind became a happy SAHM with 2, one of a kind kids, to raise. As bad as one or two viewers weren't happy with such an ending, that is what we got.
Well Tish, I guess you got your wish, wishing to discuss a show on how some others viewed what you viewed from another angle. I hope you are enjoying some of the "other angle" as more of the "delusional mindless angle", when such contributors bent on trying to make the hero character of the show as a villain. I mean, after watching and hope to get the last season of Lucifer soon. If Hollywood can make the Devil look good, I don't think it was much of a stretch to make the Nick character the same.
You know you are OLD, when you see the Slide Ruler you used in college selling in an ANTIQUE SHOP!!
