I don't think it had to be. If they'd had hexenbiest Juliette go with King Freddie they could have had her return the next season as Nick's new evil nemesis. Imagine Nick and the scoobies trying to beat the royals to the grimm treasure pitted against the royal hexenbiest who knew all of their secrets. The series finale in which Nick has to battle his former lover to the death and run the staff of destiny through her heart would probably have been a big ratings draw just for the number of fans who had always wanted to see that.
The abandonment of the royals for BC was, IMO, the real killer. Anytime an action/adventure series starts trying to rip new plotlines from real world headlines, that's the real beginning of the end.
G&K decided Juliette had to go. They turned her into Hexenette. She was hell-bent to kill Adalind, Nick's baby and Nick.
So how would you get her to be "Nick's new evil nemesis?" What came to mind was the helicopter scene, but add Hexenette. Meisner comes out of the cockpit and attacks King Freddie. Hexenette jumps in to save the king. There could be several outcomes such as:
1. She explodes Meisner's head and tries to hug Diana. Then purple eyes reminds her, "you aren't my Mommy!" More fun will happen in Austria.
2. Meisner throws Freddie out, says "down with the King" and Dianna smiles, purple eyes glowing. Hexenette grabs a broom, jumps out and swoops down to rescue Freddie. Again, more fun will happen in Austria.
I liked your idea:
