When my wife was my girlfriend she would have been above suspicious, she would not have just said "Ok", I would still be hearing about it. His constant retreating into the trailer, with no explanation as to why he was there or what all that stuff was. Whinny is not quite the word for how my girlfriend would have reacted. And most definitely, it injected the appearance of fear and distrust into the budding relationship. Even Renard later urged Adalind to see the situation realistically, reminding her that Nick didn’t react kindly to the last Hexenbiest he lived with. He was using it to further his own agenda, but that he used it at all indicated the theory held weight. I thought Adalind’s panic over being a Hexenbiest again coupled with Nick fearing she’d take his stick but not his son made them both look stupid.
I found Juliette boring too, Henry, but I also found Adalind boring in S5 & S6. It’s not as much about the character as it is that there’s just not much for the love interest to do. Her storyline is just that - the central character’s love interest. Also agree that Juliette could be annoying and whiny, and often thought she should either reconcile with her decision to stay with Nick or just leave and make a better life for herself.
Robyn, I didn’t find Juliette or Adalind boring but I disliked Juliette as a girlfriend as I found her to be very whiny and insecure and constantly stuck her nose in were it didn’t belong, though Nick caused some of that to be fair with his secret keeping . I found Adalind to be less insecure and whiny and she certainly wasn’t accusing Nick of cheating at every turn and checking his emails like Juliette did. This is also just personal opinion but I always got the sense that Juliette was a bit stuck up and thought of herself as better than Nick.
eric, Juliette was living with a Police Detective, not a doorman or a shoe salesman. Some detectives get various level of top secret government security access, based on what they do on the job. I had a far cousin as a NYC Police Gold Badge Detective assigned to a detail to protect foreign dignitaries. Something that happened a lot with the UN, being present in NYC. He carried a full auto machine gun on the job, in a state where full auto guns are illegal. Something some of us family members only found out about it after he passed away after retirement. Trust me, his wife was not privy to all his secrets.
Also, there is restrictions of what they could divulge on what they know about the many cases they worked on before they came to trial. So, GF, wife, life partner or what ever else lived with such a cop, secrets come with the territory. They can either accept it or walk away. One of the many reasons for the higher divorce rate for LE. Juliette decided to stay.
IMO, in many instances, even before she knew about the Wesen world, Nick disclosed too much information, to her, about cases he was working on. After she was brought in the fold, She and the gang got way too much info. OMG, did I just accuse Nick of being corrupt?
You know you are OLD, when you see the Slide Ruler you used in college selling in an ANTIQUE SHOP!!
