Since the storyline didn't have Adalind being taking to Viktor that night, we can't know what Adalind's reaction would have been had the baby been taken away when born. All we know for certain is that Adalind bonded with the baby and her safety was Adalind's priority. Adalind agreeing to trade the baby for her powers was horrid, but she realized her mistake and set about to correct it and was committed to Diana.(12-03-2017, 05:54 PM)Robyn Wrote:As I recall, it would have surely ended that way id Meisner and Co. didn't show up. The baby pushed Adalind’s moral compass into gear and sent her in a new direction. Diana’s birth appeared to be the first time Adalind experienced unconditional love.
Meisner was sent by Sean, not because Sean gave a damm about Diana or Adalind. He just did not want the Royals to have such a powerful Hex in there grasp. Remember, he was trying to become the leader of the Resistance.
So no, I don't see Adalind's original intent to sell the baby as end of story. People make horrible mistakes. If we're forever defined by our mistakes regardless of our efforts to correct them; what's the point of trying to better ourselves?
If Renard didn't have any concern for Adalind he could have arranged for the baby to flown out of Europe and told Meisner that Adalind was on her own. For whatever reason, Renard's intent was to get mother and child out of Europe.
