I imagine that being in Juliette's shoes when it comes to Nick would be an extremely tough place to be. She loves a person who was a true human when she met him, loved him enough to decide she wanted to live with him and marry him.
Then life changes because Nick becomes a grimm. As many have pointed out here, Juliette didn't understand his world. To a certain extent, I agree. But I also think Nick didn't understand his world because of the passes he is given simply for not understanding.
And before anyone jumps in with some sarcasm, read this out. This is not a tear down Nick post, got it?
Ariel was brought up in this thread and Juliette took the position that that wasn't Nick's fault.
Adalind as Juliette was brought up. Also not Nick's fault because he thought he was with Juliette.
The muse wasn't Nick's fault because she enchanted him.
Henrietta wasn't Nick's fault because she manipulated him.
Now, Nick, as a grimm, did not know any of this would happen with these types of wesen, so it seems that, at least in these cases, he didn't know much about the wesen world either.
So this is what Juliette must deal with on a day after day after day basis: Nick is caught in these compromising situations but it's not his fault because he doesn't know the wesen world these women come from well enough to protect himself.
We all think of the life as a grimm as one of simply going from town to town, dutifully chopping the heads of those vicious wesen. But is there a lure to the grimm life that could equate to cheating? It's not just Adalind that could bed Nick. Ariel, Henrietta, and the muse could have easily did just the same. With that behind him, Nick would know that it will probably happen again.
I honestly think I’ve Nick had of told her about the Wesen world from the start and was honest a lot of the insecurities Juliette felt and accusations may have been avoided.
I do think she did often suspected him of cheating a lot however with Nick keeping secrets and acting strangely especially with Women like Adalind and Ariel in season 1, I don’t blame her at all for acussing him of cheating in those situations. Juliette wasn’t always very secure in her relationship with Nick but a lot of that insecurity came from outside forces so again I can’t fully blame her for that either.
Just like to interject a couple of points:
1st, Nick did try to introduce Juliette early on. The coma incident put a hold on that process.
2nd. Once she was out of the coma, her memory issues created more delays for him to indulge in his secret.
3rd. After she did get all her memories back, Nick was hesitant to expose her out of fear of overloading her mind.
4th. This concept of Nick keeping secrets from Juliette was not something new because he became a Grimm.
Anyone in a relationship with LE and especially a Homicide Detective, can NOT expect to be in the know about every aspect of their job. There will be circumstances pertaining to his investigations which will be kept from their life partners.
Was Nick's, transformation into a Grimm, add to those secrets? Hell YES, but it it wasn't the only contributor. His job is expected to not share or inform family and significant others with their detailed activities and/or information as part of their job.
Juliette and some viewers expecting Nick to be as transparent about his job as she could be as Vet would be a pipe dream. Now, I will attest these are fictional characters in a fictional world but the detective aspects of their job has to, somewhat, relate to the real world situations, to make it believable.
P.S. Henry, I am just a bit curious. Why bring this up again. I thought this dead horse was beaten to death a few times over.
You know you are OLD, when you see the Slide Ruler you used in college selling in an ANTIQUE SHOP!!
