Do you really want to go further with these stupid innuendos?I never said you were, I said that post had some shocking statements that could be interpreted that way. I even suggested it was unintentional. My respond was no more stupid than the post which triggered it.
Oh yes you did. According to you, the statement made your stomach turn.
So you really want to go on with this. Okay, let's do it then.
Why was this statement racist, according to you?
And by the way, please do not twist things around with some completely asinine statement about interpretation. You cannot speak for other people, only yourself.
You and only you are the one who interpreted the statement to be racist and therefore attributed that ugly prejudice to me by stating I chose to defend it.
Your statement:
The statement can be interpreted as racism. Anyone can write something unintentional, but to be made aware of the interpretation and choose to take a defensive position is surprising. I am not the only one who would find that statement problematic.
You said: “So, when Rosalee and Monroe needed help, Nick made Juliette believe he only wanted his Grimm back as a way of helping. Helping them, by the way, with a problem they caused for themselves by deciding to get married and intermingle their species”.
The problem was Wesenrein, a wesen version of KKK. They kidnapped Monroe and Bud and accused them not only “befriending of a Grimm”, but also “marrying outside your bloodline”. This was a wesen version of “interracial marriage”. According to your post, Monroe and Rosalee had themselves to blame for being victims, because they decided to get married. Remember, you said this to support your argument that Nick should have prioritized his relationship with Juliette (i.e. not became a Grimm again), as if Monroe and Rosalee did not deserve Nick’s help, because they decided “to get married and intermingle their species”. That like saying someone being kidnapped by KKK could have prevented the problem by marry their “own kind”. The statement can be interpreted as racism. But you did not stop there:
“ Threats that Monroe and Rosalee were well aware could be leveled at them. They opted to marry anyway. All Rosalee could add, rather childishly to Juliette was, "and you agreed!".
What I am going to write now is not directly linked to my statement, but reinforces the impression and makes it even worse. Wesenrein was really a precursor of BC. According to Renard, killing non- wesen was the only way to “true progress” and Eve said they wanted to complete what Hitler did not achieve. So, when Nick stopped Renard from taking office, i.e. saving the non-wesen (i.e. people with wrong color or whatever you want it to symbolize) you descried that as an “grievous crime”. Not only was Monroe and Rosalee responsible for their own misfortune, but Nick stopping this from happening on a wide scale was a crime that deserved an apology.
Again, I’m saying people taking the symbolism of the storyline seriously, could interpreted it a racism. I expect you to tell me how this means nothing because you are only twisting the storyline to glorify Renard and Juliette. But that is the problem with stretching the argument too far....
