A lowly police captain would not have much pull among that crowd, especially since he was in charge of the most recent site. Renard would be busy protecting his own ass, since his recent stay was at a residence rented by Conrad or his associates, and he gave a shoot to kill order on Nick. His past would come back to haunt him, the covert trip to Europe, a FBI agent tring to kill him, his involvement in the fight club, etc would all come out. It would be everyone for themselves, to hell with Renard.(10-23-2017, 05:47 AM)rpmaluki Wrote: Didn't they blame Conrad for the North Precinct massacre, I include the "missing" cops that Nick killed at the fome? Nick was supposedly undercover to catch Conrad, at this stage whatever report they wrote, there's no one alive to disprove these claims. Digging any deeper would reveal the BC plot and that would also jeopardise Renard. At the moment, Only Renard and HW know about the loft where most of the killings happened, the dropped the bodies down the abandoned shaft that led to the sewer system, they can't conclusively point anything towards Nick.
With Conrad already a shady character, Nick would only appear heroic for supposedly bringing him down and it's likely HW would help keep him out of serious trouble since they were all working together at the time of Conrad's death.
rp, it is exactly how Renard played it. I guess I wasn't the only one paying attention to the details of the show.
