S1 she was happy to do whatever Sean wanted because she thought he loved/cared for her beyond settling her mother's debt. S2 se was a woman scorned, with a plan to sell her baby to the highest bidder. S3 she was heartbroken and vengeful, desperately seeking her daughter. S4 still seeking daughter but then switches to protecting her unborn son. In S5 onwards there's no way Adalind could be anything like S1-4 because the circumstances had changed and focused on Kelly which relegated Diana to the back of her mind when she didn't have resources, time to go looking for Diana when the person who had some idea wouldn't tell for whatever reason. Her priorities changed but now she has Diana back. I understand her choosing to be a mother and whatever to Nick. It's a quieter life than the one she lived throughout the first four seasons and that was Adalind at her worst and lowest. I wouldn't want to rock the boat either even though old Adalind was a fantastic character to watch for us viewers (I actually didn't like watching her but I get her appeal).
