For all we know, Eric Renard IS Diana's father!Could be, but regardless, Renard was presented as believing the baby was his. But for that matter, there wasn't any reason for Nick readily accepting that his one afternoon delight with Adalind resulted in pregnancy. Viewers can assume from what we saw that Adalind wasn't with anyone else, but there's no reason for Nick to assume that.
Renard and Nick should have sought out DNA tests, because Adalind is a lyin liar that lies.
Renard had medical records taken from Adalind doctors. First day at the hospital Nick spent enough time with the baby by himself to do a DNA test which he did at work all the time. DNA tests are easy to do like brushing your teeth and cheap. TV shows now only mention the results when they fail since they are so common now.
Medical records do NOT equal a DNA test. Adalind was sleeping with Eric for months BEFORE her ONS with Renard. Sean should have insisted on a DNA test before he claimed that Diana was his kid. Nick should have insisted on a DNA test, because he knows Renard and Adalind were back together as a couple living at the hotel. IMO, Nick and Renard were too dumb to insist on DNA tests and took the word of a lying liar that lies.
People now do the test themselves at hospital before the baby leaves. Why add medical costs, court costs, less reliability testing and time insisting on something you can do yourself using the baby? Plus you can get fun reports about where you family came from that you can show all your relatives.
DNA tests are part of many medical records. Every time they convict someone of a felony they do DNA test and store the data in a large database. Crime shows do not mention this testing all the time.
Women characters do not have to be having sex with the lead to be important to the story.
