Juliette was not distancing herself from the past. That is why she said she regrets Nick not being able to bury Juliette. She recognizes what happened for him to have that thought. The same with the books. That is why she said the new books would replace what was lost.
Eve is not the absence of the past. It is her having a new way of looking at things. Being Eve has nothing to do with her emotions. That is why even with her emotions returning she is still Eve. She thinks exactly how she did in S5. Unlike Juliette pre and post hexenbiest who let other dictate how she feels and what she does. Eve functions on rational thought.
That is why Adalinds change is nothing like Eve's change. Adalind changed what she does. Eve changed the why of what she does. Where Adalind reacts by what she feels she should do. Eve reacts by what she thinks she should do.
