They switched from her being about the mission with Nick and how she felt his family life was getting in the way to her having lingering feelings where Nick was concerned as Juliette to the point she threatened Adalind if she hurt Nick.In the article I read, Greenwalt didn’t share what the particular changes were, only that they were made to change the story direction. I assumed that the above scene was one of the changes because Claire Coffee said in an interview that Eve would confront Nick & Adalind. Then Eve confronted Adalind about Nick instead. Another tidbit Coffee shared was that Adalind would get swept up into the HW/BC war in a serious way and side with HW. Unless Coffee considers that Adalind asking Diana to warn Nick is joining HW, that would have changed too.
After Eve of Destruction, the internet was abuzz with speculation that the triangle wouldn’t be Eve/Nick/Juliette, but rather, Meisner/Adalind/Nick. For the show to waste screen time having Meisner think about his time with Adalind then never have them cross paths again doesn’t make sense - even for the Grimm creative team.
I thinks it’s a reasonable assumption that Meisner/Adalind/Nick was the original plan for the triangle. Good grief could it be more nighttime soap? And Eve would remain indifferent to Nick. Then everything got switched up and became a convoluted mess. Adalind suddenly loves Nick, Nick suddenly doesn’t trust Adalind, and Eve begins making strategic mistakes because she’s more focused on Nick and of course there’s the magic stick whammy.
The positive I see with Meisner/Adalind/Nick is if Adalind felt she had options, she might have been assertive with Nick and unwilling to accept anything less than a committed relationship and Nick would have had the opportunity to see Adalind interact with someone who has never been her enemy.
Meisner never made any effort to return or even tell Adalind about Diana. How could he be in love or even a friend of hers?

Of course knowing he's the offspring of the two makes him of special interest to Nick/Adalind's enemies but without any weird powers, he won't raise too much unwanted attention.
It may not be just Nick/Adalind's enemies who take an interest in baby Kelly. Just like those who took offense to Monroe and Rosalee's marriage, there are no doubt those hexenbiests and grimms who would take great offense at a child of mixed heritage.
Zauberbiests could be more offended by a male with a biest but not one of them.
