But consider… The show, through the characters’ reaction to Juliette becoming a Hexenbiest, and later to Adalind when the suppressant wore off, presents these women as being dangerous and untrustworthy because of the Hexenbiest. But there are inconsistencies. Adalind was equally devious after Nick killed her Hexenbiest in S2 but equally loyal to Nick & nurturing to Kelly after the suppressant wore off in S5. Is the choice to be good or bad Adalind’s, and the Hexenbiest is simply a source of mental & physical power? The difference with Juliette might be that her Hexenbiest was magically created, unlike Adalind, whose Hexenbiest has been a part of her since conception? The show had Adalind worried that the suppressant wearing off would thwart her decision to be ‘good’, yet Adalind didn’t display any change afterwards and no reason was given for her not reverting to her old ways.(12-25-2016, 11:38 AM)MarylikesGrimm Wrote: "The Taming of the Wu" is before Adalind took Kelly. How interesting this is.....
Nick: Do whatever you have to do.
Eve: I will do everything I can to keep Kelly safe, but don't trust Adalind. She may no longer be in control.
So Adalind may no longer be in control. If she's a seasoned hexenbiest and Eve said this about her, why then would it be so hard to believe Hexenette hadn't taken control?
The show had Eve telling Nick and Trubel that Juliette would have killed them. She told Trubel that Juliette had a problem with Nick & Adalind, not her. Eve never explained to Nick or Trubel that Juliette was unable to control the Hexenbiest, but after ‘training’ with Meisner, she was able to control the Hexenbiest and use it to her benefit. Is Eve not aware that she’s able to control the Hexenbiest and Juliette wasn’t?

Had Eve deceived Nick, he would have reacted after the fact and never considered that he messed up or learned from his mistake. Nick didn’t trust Adalind with his tunnels and his stick, and was proactive in protecting them from her. But wasn’t proactive in keeping Kelly safe, even after Eve, Meisner, Trubel, and Adalind warned him Renard & BC would use Diana to compromise Adalind.
This made me think of something else about Eve and trust. I saw toward the end of the season what I considered to be changes in the way Eve reacted to Nick, and wondered if Eve wanted to plant discord between Nick & Adalind by convincing him not to trust Adalind.
Eve first warned Nick that the suppressant would soon wear off if it hadn’t already, and cautioned him that Adalind couldn’t be trusted when that happened. Eve would have known Rosalee would be aware of this. So it’s not like she was warning Nick with information only she had access to. Based on what Eve saw of Nick’s reaction, he didn’t seem concerned that Adalind would be a Hexenbiest again. Nick was worried but he didn’t share that with Eve. She then proceeded to warn Nick that Adalind being a Hexenbiest and BC having Diana risked compromising him and Kelly. Promised to protect Kelly and again warned him not to trust Adalind.
It would be one thing if Eve had gone to Adalind because Nick ignored her warning about Renard & BC. But Eve didn’t warn Adalind in the same fashion she warned Nick. She warned Adalind that BC would come for her, but didn’t suggest a plan to keep her & Kelly away from BC - as in, you would be safer inside the HW compound. Instead, she threatened to come for Adalind if she hurt Nick, nothing about Kelly’s safety, just don’t hurt Nick. Actually, based on the Eve that was introduced, it would have made more sense for Eve to confront Nick for not taking the necessary steps to keep him, Kelly & Adalind safe after learning of the BC/Diana threat.
Greenwalt said in a interview that they did last minute rewrites because the story either wasn’t headed in the direction they had intended or they changed their mind about the story direction, can’t remember which. One of the changes was Eve confronting Nick & Adalind that Nick’s commitment to his family was interfering with his obligations to HW became Eve threatening to come for Adalind if she hurt Nick. So was Eve changed from cold, mission focused operative to gradually experiencing Juliette’s feelings for Nick? And because of those growing feelings, she wanted to drive a wedge between Nick & Adalind, and ultimately save Nick & Kelly from BC while allowing Adalind to be a casualty of war?

she is talking about the same thing Adalind was talking about. Hexenbiest have a strong urge to seek revenge. Plus the habit of lying, deception, and scheming. Traits we saw the minute she got her powers back.
So the Hexenbiest no longer had any control once Juliette was transformed into Eve? It’s only Adalind, the Hexenbiest the others can’t trust? That requires a lot of confidence that whatever HW did to Juliette holds. And between Eve’s change in behavior and her reaction to Nick’s stick whammy, it doesn’t seem to be holding all that well.
