Don't think Monroe ran into them casually; there was probably a reason we viewers saw it. The priest and crew probably have it now. But if they don't know what is, maybe there is still some connection to the overarching story of Grimm. In one of Monroe's history lessons he said that area was at one time under they own King and Queen but being taken over by some larger group I think he said the Prussians. so I think that was their tomb and church and the Prussians destroyed the church but the one of the knight knew where it had been. Great place to hide something when no remembers it was there. Did you wonder what the town folk thought after having a wesen help a Grimm get way.
Seemed awfully coincidental to have Monroe run into two bejeweled skeletons for no apparent reason; they looked like 'skeleton' keys, haha. One looked as if he could have been a church luminary such as a bishop, but the other was female; that bespeaks royalty. Could be just nothing in particular, but it's odd if it doesn't mean anything. That little village seems to be overpopulated with wesen and probably doesn't have much contact with the outside world, so the townspeople would likely take the fact of a Blutbad and a Grimm working together as a superstitious and ominous sign.
