Quote:But my husband gave a very different opinion. He said Nick believed it was Juliette he was with. If she tried something different and the outcome was in the wow factor, great. If she stuck to the routine, still great. The point was they connected, the actions she took to get to that point didn't matter.
If you are people who are spontaneous, or experimental ok. If the relation was having problems maybe. But going from tender to wild in one afternoon. not in human nature. Wouldn't he wonder where she learned that.
Quote:What Nick did to Adalind was in a sense, rape. She was ravaged and plundered in an effort to destroy her hexenbiest. You are correct.context you have to read it in context.
But I wasn't trying to make the point that Adalind was raped, so therefore, Nick should be raped as well. I merely wanted to talk about Nick's reaction to being raped.
I don't consider theft the same as rape. People feel violated when they're the victims of theft, I'm not arguing that. But I consider rape a far more insidious crime than theft.
I was saying that both acts technically are the same. Neither are intended are perceived as being rape. That you perceive it that way is your perspective on the subject. That is why I was using theft as a comparison on perspective. All of my examples could be construed as theft accompanied by a feeling of violation. Even my last example. The finder had a duty to locate the owner and return the wallet. That they didn't and now has all of the person personal information would surly make some feel extremely violated. Other would just cancel their cards report the theft feel stupid for leaving their wallet and move on.
Nick got tricked now he is moving on. So many keep wanting to tie Nicks show of outrage to learning it was Adalind. The outrage come at discovering he lost his powers. In the car he was embarrassed because he was going on and on how good it was. It was Juliette that said the news made her feel sick. Nick did not make one negative statement. He apologized and said he didn't know but never any sign of disgust.
Quote:If Nick really and truly loved Juliette as many here believe, then he would see Adalind's actions as a violation. She was an outsider tampering with an intimacy he had with his beloved Juliette.Juliette got over the incident. Even to the point she became Adalind, the person Nick should have be outraged about. In your mind how does someone considers themselves raped. Rationalize voluntarily sleeping with what looks like their attacker.
The only part of the entire incident was Nick's loss of powers. How it happened became a none issue subject. He said he didn't she believed him end of story. Even now Monroe jokes about it, Nick smiles. Yea he really feels violated.
