4) Did you see them fly? She sat on that tree, she could get up there in many ways. Mellifers don't fly either (OK, perhaps they can go full-Woge into bees, but I doubt that).
Now, it's very true that geiers may simply have super jumping power (and we see the geier jump down from the tree), but I make little distinction between having super jumping ability and flight. In any case, geiers are modeled after vultures, and I still feel the parallel works. A parallel doesn't need to be exact to be a parallel (e.g., the "bite marks" in this episode weren't from actual fangs as they would be in traditional vampire legends).
