Supernatural is in it is in 11 season because they only have the one background theme per season. So the characters are developed and change for that season and grow season to season they learn.
I agree with you. A show like Supernatural does exactly what you said. But, sometimes you just miss the monster of the week. With Supernatural, I'm just getting sick and tired of all the Angel and Demon crap. And it's week after week. For the first few seasons of Supernatural, it was mainly just monster's of the week and it made each episode spooky, creepy and a little scary. Supernatural kind of lost that.
You're right. They're not as funny as they used to be. They're constantly serious all the time! I just wish that they could give us one season where Castiel is gone and so is Crowley. And Sam and Dean are just doing cases again. They've done all the monsters they can think of, I would love them to go to known paranormal sites (I mean, Not the actual locations but simulate them). Like Eastern State Penn, or the Lizzy Borden House Because Lizzy came back. Or the Jersey Devil. Or the Moth Man. Having them bust out Dad's journal again. I think it would be a GREAT episode and they could probably pull a lot of comedy if they were to have a case at the Winchester Mystery House!
