Lack of concept development? IMO, yes.
I guess I am a grumpy ol' man, but it seems to me Grimm has rather jumped the shark. The overall plot connecting the episodes now seems inane to me. I liked the characters, Bud, Rosalee, Monroe etc (not Nick, never liked Nick) and the wesen were interesting, but the overall sub-plot of the episodes of this series is juvenile at best(obviously in my opinion). So I'll go beyond saying lack of development and call it juvenile scripting. The writers manaed to take a great concept filled with potential and turn it into a prime time version of Land of the Lost (see footnote #1)

Land of the lost - TV series
Hey I used to watch that show. When you only have five stations on television, you can't be choosy! I laugh every time I see it on television these days though. Totally cheesy.
