I understand now. Nick's feelings were hurt. It doesn't matter a hoot to him whether Juliette wanted out of their relationship or not. It doesn't matter to him whether Renard was interested in Juliette or not.
Nick sees Juliette as a possession that belongs to him, something he could do whatever he wanted with. That makes a lot of sense in why he made the decision to kill her.
I don't think Juliette could have just gone after anyone else. I don't think Nick would have let her.
The best way to frustrate a cyberbully is to ignore him.
