Maybe Nick will be shaped by the future but I pretty much think Nick is sort of a punk. His murder of Kenneth did not impress me, he sort of stacked the odds in his favor with his little knife trick. And aren't Grimms suppose to be super bad asses? To the best of my knowledge (until it is established otherwise) he simply killed an arrogant human with no special abilities other than being a grade A anal orifice. So he brings a knife to a fight with an unarmed human? Wu did pat him down. And then Wu and Hank were standing by as seconds and thirds. Sorry but Nick comes across to me a bit of a female reproductive opening in all of this.
Given what I wrote above, I don't think I am misunderstanding the character. I just think society's standards have been so degenerated that people now cheer a law enforcement official who murders people in cold blood and then frames them for murder (not a reference to my favorite jellyfish by the way).
It's not great dealing with the scum of humanity, but every once in a while there's a bright spot. You probably know of some, izzy. My Dad has told me about a few and I've heard stories from his friends. Usually the story involved either a kindness to the detective(s) or cops or law enforcement rendering a service/kindness to a civilian in need.
It's a funny thing about Nick (I suppose I should include Hank as well). They're the joes on the street, dealing with the front line. Yet they're never ever shown rendering any type of assistance to civilians or getting any in return.
You were talking about Nick and Kenneth. While I'm sure many felt Kenneth deserved everything he got, I also found that whole warehouse scene outrageous.
Something I found even more unbelievable was the episode, The Hour of Death. Nick is about to break into the kidnapper's house with a cross bow full of truth serum. Even Hank was shocked by his behavior. Small wonder.
The best way to frustrate a cyberbully is to ignore him.
