Kelly appeared to be certain that if Renard and Adalind tried to keep Diana it would end with both of them dead and Diana in the hands of the Royals. So I expect she would have taken Diana whether Renard cooperated or not.
Nick would probably have regarded Renard as a mentor when he was unaware of Renard's secret life as a wesen and royal. Once he had clued into the fact that the hexenbiest nurse who had tried to kill his aunt was Renard's GF/minion, he probably started looking for ulterior motives in just about everything Renard ever told him. And by the end of s05, you could tell by the tone of their conversations that he no longer felt anything even remotely resembling respect or trust for the man.
