The closest Meisner ever came to bodyguarding Renard was when he escorted him to and from his meeting with the resistance.
I didn't really see Renard as using Diana as an asset, but if he did, I don't fault him with that. Kelly looked upon Diana as an asset as well. I think you once stated she felt somehow guilty about leaving Nick behind and never going back for him. So Diana was a way of easing her conscience in a way that getting back with Nick never could. I can actually see her thinking this through and figuring that she has a win-win situation. She comes back and sees her adult son, and then has a baby to care for. I also think there were also delusions of grandeur in the whole "this child has a destiny for good or evil" thought as well. And let's not forget Adalind. She was delighted over carrying a royal baby. She used the pregnancy as a way to also advance her own agenda, then threatened to abort the baby if she didn't get her way.
The best way to frustrate a cyberbully is to ignore him.
