The series doesn't treat Adalind's relationship with Catherine as though they were separated for years, and Adalind just showed up in order to resolve Catherine's obligation with Renard. Apparently there must have been some time for her to get involved with Renard because after she loses her hexenbiest, she tells Renard that she took on the obligation for him, not for Catherine.

It doesn't have to be an undisciplined child. One of the best episodes of a young person given unlimited powers was on Star Trek. Charlie X was about a teenager who was given powers by aliens who were able to discipline him. The annoying side of all this was that it was just a stab at how immature humanity is. Yet another story of a human can't handle unlimited powers, and so had to be taken out of the picture, yada, yada, yada.
On the flip side, I just got through watching Good Omens on Amazon. A quite different and refreshing take on a boy with powers.

The best way to frustrate a cyberbully is to ignore him.
