Nick complicates it. This really is simple. We have a concept called the rule of law ad a criminal justice system that is predicated upon the idea that we would rather 10 guilty men go free than convict on innocent man. Sometimes you know a person is guilty, evidence is the problem. Well our system is designed to let the a lot of people get away. Heck that is what RICO was designed to correct.
Let me put it to you this way. we do have a class of people who are able to commit horrendous crimes and get way with it, they are called people with diplomatic immunity.
The way some in this forum seem to reason the wesen-grimm-cop thing, if applied by analogy, is cops should just waste people with diplomatic immunity because they are beyond the reach of the normal human law. So some diplomat from Nigeria is over in the U.S and molests a 12 year old girl, well then I guess a NY cop should then just feel free to blow his head off? It occurs to me, by analogy that is what some are saying when you take things to their logical extreme. So the issue becomes who draws the line. What cases beyond the normal, is Nick allowed to get creative on? And my understanding of Season 5 is Nick is going to be a bit unhinged, does anyone really want him wandering around as judge-jury-executioner?
Just a view...
One last thing, part of formal education is in cultural anthropology. This is actually what attracted me to the series. The idea of a secret-cultish sub-culture rich in legend, in sort of archaeological porn for an anthropologist. The other side of that coin is, I am keenly aware of societal trends that tend to erode the mores of a society and the implications, We live in dangerous times. I'll just leave it at that.
Peace out as they use to say maybe 10 years ago.
