This reminds me of what the MCU is going through now. Are vigilantes a force for good or do they lead to more damage in the long run? I like when shows or movies delve into this because it can lead to very interesting storylines. Although, they usually end coming around on the side for the need of vigilantes.
An argument for them would be that they save lives and stop villains that normal law enforcement wouldn't stand a chance against.
An argument against them wouldn't need to go any further than Ultron. Tony cost a lot of damage and people paid the cost because of his hubris. The Avengers just saved the world from a mess that he created. This led to his position in the conflict in Civil War.
Of course, I'm predicting this will end with the recognition for the need of vigilantes. The entire world is going to recognize the need for every vigilante they have come next year.
