However the point to my post isn't so much about the issues between them but rather the writers and their candid way of dealing with their plot points. No I got that. I was just comparing Nick’s issue with the Hexenbiest being resolved on screen and Adalind learning about the stick off screen. Nick kept the stick secret before learning the suppressant had worn off, so while the show made a big deal over Adalind being a Hexenbiest again, it was Adalind, the human who Nick distrusted.
In 5x12, Adalind was desperate to be rid of the hexenbiest whether permanently or another suppressant and worked with Rosalee to find something, anything that would help her do away with her wesen nature no matter for how long and the writers specifically told us that there was nothing Adalind could. She believed she was at a dead end and had to resign herself to being a hexenbiest without any possibility of changing that.
Why do you think Adalind was suddenly desperate to be rid of the Hexenbiest? She brought it up as early as S5E2. She obviously realized after Diana’s birth that being a Hexenbiest wasn’t the imperative once believed, but until S5, Adalind didn’t appear to consider the Hexenbiest one way or another. Did you see signs that Adalind was compelled to do certain things solely by the Hexenbiest? I didn’t. I considered Adalind influenced by her mother, Renard, and her immature mentality with the Hexenbiest providing her the means/skills for whatever she did.

But, I never thought of Adalind as craving personal power. I saw her as being drawn to those whose power offered status and protection. As a Hexenbiest without and with children, Adalind didn’t appear to have confidence in her Hexenbiest and professional skills providing adequate protect and opportunity. She depended on Renard to protect her from Nick, the Royals to protect her while human, Meisner to protect her from the Royals, and Nick to protect her from Juliette. I get that Meisner & Nick were protecting her while pregnant, but Adalind appeared to need the same sense of security when not pregnant.
