While neither man was expecting to become a dad, but Nick is the dad type. Renard isn't. He's more the playboy type.
Neither of them would be thrilled with a 3rd man stepping in, but I don't see Adalind ever doing that to begin with.
She latched unto Nick for very good reasons.
a) He would defend her and Kelly AND Diana to the death.
b) He would never abandon them. She knew Renard better than that.
It's like Adalind said in one episode: "I sleep better knowing you'll kill anything that comes through that door."
This is hard wired evolution folks, a woman uses her sexual favors to bind a man to her and her children. You can talk about feminism if you like, but 40 or so years of that does not undo 2 million years of hard wired evolution.
