Whatever strengths Renard has and his ability to lead/guide (he is Captain after all) I don't think it translate to rearing children and especially one as special as his daughter. When Diana was having her freak out when meeting with Adalind for the the first time he deferred to her to "Do something" and he wanted Adalind to tell Diana to stop killing. Renard, like any new parent, has exhibited a helplessness in what to dowhen it comes to his child. He is not better than Nick in this situation and considering on which side he's chosen for himself, I'd rather Adalind become a single parent than rely in him for anything. Adalind is the only one that seems to have a grasp of what Diana is capable of and is trying to remedy that, Sean is happy to let her do it instead of being the strong father figure he needs to be to make sure Diana is under control. He can control grown men but is lacking when it comes to small people who have a mind of their own. It's natural really, not everyone is good at everything. He may take the initiative come next season but I'm not holding my breath since he's likely the main bad of S6 and that's not good for any child.
