If so did they know what she was so they would hide the ID or were the not wesen thinking she just had problem? This and Trubel adds to the thought of Grimm' s who might be in mental wards the Dr. knows they are Grimm's and keeps them there. You may have a thread here.(10-16-2016, 07:50 AM)jsgrimm45 Wrote: I've not posted here because I'm not a woman. So this is a post is more a question for debate on this post. In the real world some seeing a Psychiatrist and saying I see wesen he would be treated for a mental health problem. Now with Grimm if Trubel had found a Psychiatrist who knew about wesen what would their answer be? Would they think she was insane no they would work on teaching her? When Trubel met Nick she didn't know anything about wesen so did Nick act as Psychiatrist? I'm gone sorry for jumping in of a woman's point view debate.
js, I believe izzy said a while back that anyone could post in the thread if they wanted to so. I just moved the Trubel question over here because we had talked about Trubel earlier in the thread.
You ask some good questions. I don't know if Trubel would have seen a psychiatrist on a regular basis. When my daughter was going into the system, she only saw one once, just for evaluation. The rest of the time she saw counselors. So my guess is that Trubel probably saw a counselor or many counselors.
The question on my mind is, were some of them wesen?

I think the discussion has veered away from the original topic and the male point of view offers insightful counter arguments.
My point concerning Trubel instantly accepting Nick’s Grimm/Wesen explanation for her troubled youth was about how the writers presented Nick, Trubel, and the other characters easily accepting and acclimating to this bizarre world they were told about. I find this method immature - as in, get everyone on board right away so we can start telling our weekly Grimm vs Wesen stories. If they wanted to jump into the WoW episodes they should have had the characters informed & acclimated at the start, and filled in viewers during the episodes.
A normal person would believe he/she is insane and hallucinating horrifying creatures - and when told by a friend, relative, or psychiatrist that he/she isn’t insane because these mystical creatures called Wesen exist and he/she is also a mystical creature called a Grimm, whose purpose in life is to seek out and kill the evil Wesen - this normal person would still believe he/she is insane and the friend/relative/psychiatrist is part of the hallucinations.
A detective who has lived a typical life is not going to immediately react to this news with: Whew! Glad you were around to tell me about Grimms & Wesen. I feel so much better now. Nor is the young woman who spent most of her childhood bouncing between foster homes and running from horrifying creatures only she could see.
But on the show, both these characters immediately accepted this information and this secret mystical world as their new norm. And the detective’s partners & girlfriend not only accepted without question that he was a Grimm but didn’t have any negative reaction to his secret keeping that endangered them unnecessarily.
The other part is that Nick only mentored Trubel as a Grimm. Neither he or Juliette ever questioned what Trubel might want from life if given the opportunity. They assumed that Trubel, like them, would accept/believe that being a Grimm/helping a Grimm is the ultimate goal.
I agree that someone in Trubel's predicament would benefit from a psychiatrist who is aware of Grimm & Wesen. But I don't believe the show would present any positive therapy that suggests choosing a normal life over the Grimm life as a viable option.
