I picked 3% as a midpoint between periods of increased inflation and periods of little or none. Wild guess, but having lived through the 70s and 80s, I'm not comfortable assuming that there's no chance we'll see that again in the next 15-20 years.
Aunt Marie's Airstream would have cost around $3000 when it was new in the 60s and the current version is around $100k, which doesn't seem to track inflation rates at all, though. Maybe because they're luxury items built mostly by hand.
If shows like Star Trek that have characters changing past events many times can't seem to decide whether its rewriting history or creating alternate realities, it's probably futile to speculate on what is happening when a grimm with a magic staff does it.
