It's nice. The creatures and everything else on the show could be explained multiple ways at this point, either from there being loads of things not currently understood by science in the Grimm universe, by it all being actual magic, or a mixture. It is also a way to draw in fans who are more reluctant about the supernatural. The merest hint of fantasy-based realities in fiction can scare people off, sadly.
