I saw the explosion and I saw the wave immediately emanate outward in space from it. However, the wave did not "suck anything in" because it was long gone before the concentric circles developed. As for the explosion, it also traveled outward into space, just like any other explosion. I saw a tiny core, which also should not exist, because again, the wave was gone before it could develop.
Without that lifeless moon or planet to hold it in place, the only thing the Genesis wave could do is travel out into space, but not for long. You were right, there wouldn't be pieces. I was thinking the wave was just get thinner and thinner as it enlarges in the vacuum of space, but that's not what happens at all. Instead, the wave dissipates very quickly. The Enterprise only just manages to get away in time.
I get that all of this had to be in place so the planet and star could develop and Spock had a chance to regenerate. I just find it impossible.

The best way to frustrate a cyberbully is to ignore him.
