Juliette's and Sean attraction for each other was never a side effect. This whole coma arc was based on the "Sleeping Beauty" fairy tale Sean didn't want Nick to be distracted,which he was due to "the love of his life being in a coma".
After he got some clues from Catherine, what Adalind did to Juliette, he was made aware to kill the coma spell she had to be awaken by a kiss from a prince, a royal, which he was.
The kiss which woke her up was the cause for the attraction between them, not a side effect. Capisce Baccala? LOL.
