What are Oregon's rules about concealed carry? In some states it is fairly easy, and in others it is almost impossibly difficult.
A common joke about the US is that people can just stroll into a local Walmart and buy firearms in bulk. It's ... something of an exaggeration. Sort of. If Wikipedia can be trusted on this, apparently Oregon has slightly restrictive (but not highly insurmountable) laws about carried concealed weapons; basically, it sounds like you have to have a license there, one that should be issued as long as you meet the requirements:

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised by an artist with a concealed weapons permit, but then again, I live in a bizarro part of the US and weird dichotomies like that rarely faze me. I think it might be unusual in Portland, as that city strikes me as fairly liberal, but the rest of Oregon? Not so much.
As for professions for Trubel, artist does seem like one she'd be into. Or maybe author/illustrator, since she's already getting into the whole Grimm journaling thing.
