Adalind told Nick about the first meeting with Renard about Diana. IMO Adalind was worried about Diana and did not want to wait until Nick came home. You are right if she told Nick he would have told Meisner and then she would have lost her chance to get her daughter back.
Women characters do not have to be having sex with the lead to be important to the story.
