Besides Nick, one of the things I think killed Grimm is its treatment of humans. We saw this with the character of Juliette. She was smart and an accomplished professional. Yet how many discussions debated that she could never understand Nick's world.
Juliette is a main character and while a lot of people despise her, there are those who like her. I can't speak for anyone but myself in this, but I find the more I can empathize with a character, the more I like him/her. I never liked her at first either, but looking back at this, I now believe one of the reasons is due to the fact that she was never initially brought in as part of the scoobies. The scoobies made the decision that as a human, she would never understand the wesen world.
Grimm takes a rather offensive outlook at humans. Wesen have been around since the Egyptians, yet humans are still in the dark? I can see people being annoyed at the concept that humans are still the blind and dumb creatures wandering amidst the wesen without a clue of what's going on.
