I must admit, I think the announcement is excellent news. It gives the writers a chance to demonstrate how professional (in attitude) they are or are not(I lean toward they through the towel in last season, but I hope to be pleasantly surprised). Moreover no more holding back, they can wrap up the series without the oh we may get more episodes things hanging over their head like last season. I still suspect they were going for a series finale last season and the reprieve really disrupted their tempo and storyline.
It appears from the spoilers I will likely be very disappointed in the plotline. I think Nick, Juliette, and Renard will all end up surviving the series, but I also suspect Renard will somehow end up human. But who knows, I may be pleasantly surprised and they may actually craft an adult ending to the series. I guess we will know in April of May of 2017.
Methinks you are right. They never have treated the fans with any form of respect with their plotting or lack there of. Still and all, one can hope, in spite of the evidence. Sort of like the U.S. Presidential election - LOL!

I look forward to the remaining 13 episodes, but I think we all knew that several missteps by the show (Adalind raping Hank and Nick, Adalind and Nick's rape baby, Juliette's inability to emote followed by setting up Momma Grimm and her neighbor's, burning down the Grimmabago and not staying DEAD!!!!!!!..and the writers not following through and wrapping various plots in a timely manner.
I wish the cast and crew well!
