They are Nick's supporting cast therefore their relationship is of no real consequence to Nick personally, but they remain happy, together to help Nick with his wesen case of the week because splitting them up will destabilise a little too much being stuck in the middle should he need something from one or both. I love Monroe and Rosalee and hope they retain their happy ever after.(08-07-2016, 08:47 PM)rpmaluki Wrote:(08-07-2016, 01:17 PM)syscrash Wrote: rpmaluki wroteyou misunstand me. I'm not saying characters shouldn't suffer. Characters suffering before a payoff is the staple of good writing and I want good writing. My frustration with Nick and juliette (something I know I'm not alone in feeling, and I am talking about people I actually watch the show with) is that the writers FAILED in making me care about their suffering and I cared even less about the ensuing payoffs. There was simply something I could never connect with with these two. I had lost interest in them as early as S1 and that's because I wasn't impressed with their writing and 3 more seasons of their sufferings proved me right. I rooted for a single Nick early on.Quote:I just hate it when it starts feeling torturous.
Have you seen G & K season 6 interview. When asked what will be the theme of season six, their answer was suffering, lots of suffering. Even when asked about Monroe and Rosalee they said there will be happy moments, but there will be a lot of suffering. Which is why I wonder why people keep proposing happy solutions. They keep wanting to envision this happy family with Nick, Adalind and the kids. While all the time G & K continuously state there only intent is to make the characters suffer.
There's nothing that says what Adalind has with Nick is sustainable or that it will last. The difference between them and N/J is that they've only been "together" for half a season but they are getting the same kind of treatment. Whatever the writers are planning with them, I have learnt from how they wrote N/J never to trust the writers to write well rounded romances. I don't care for their relationship any more than I did N/J but I do care for the characters individually a lot more than I did N/J. I still believe Nick should be single because he's a grimm and that’s how it's supposed to work. While I didn't like juliette as a character despite sympathising with her throughout the show, I actually like Adalind as a character and she don't need to be with Nick for me to love her. She already has both her children, so what I want for her (mental, physical and emotional independence) is not linked to Nick Burkhardt, someone we've now seen she's tethered herself to too much to be healthy.
I never cared for the Nick - Juliette relationship either. But, I disagree that the writer's can't do relationships at all. IMO they've done great with Monroe and Rosalee.
