You are right he can be US citizen. But he always lived in Europe... this way, he would be more useful for HW if he works in Europe where he knows people… he knows places… he knows how to get the job done.
The show runners didn’t explained why Portland is so important. Did BC start there? If that is the case, maybe Nick efficiency against the criminal wesen can be the reason why they decided to start the uprising. But I think it would be more interesting if the connect the uprising to some group from WWII that failed in that time and now they are trying again. But if this is the case, then BC would have started in Europe and the leaders should be there. Then again: Why is Meisner in Portland?
I know the writers will connect Nick keys to the uprising (the BC is looking for the same treasure). But as it is a WW uprising, how can one detective be so important in this? I mean… the writers should have showing more big moves of the HW… They didn’t need to show it, but to mention it in the show… like… is there any country alliance against the uprising? Is the uprising trying to get the power in some country with nuclear weapons (if the BC wants a WW rule, they will not get it just with streets demonstrations)?
