I don't think this show is going to have him stick along (and pay $$) all the way through. I think his presence will actually show Nick how it's possible to think of Adalind as "good." I mean, think about it - Meisner saw Adalind when she was a hexenbeist but struggling to protect Diana, on the run from the royals, was there when she gave birth, etc. All the things Nick hasn't really done, but I think he might see their interactions and feel a little protective of his "family" as weird as it is.
Bree Turner started out on the show as a guest star, too. Just sayin'.
I don't think there's ANY point in having the whole Nick/Adalind moving in together/having a baby storyline if the end intent is to pair her with Meisner.
How about a threesome?
FUNNY!
Actually, if this was True Blood and not Grimm, I'd almost bet on that.
This being an NBC show, however, I think Adalind will have to choose either or, not both.
That being said, I believe people have brought up a lot of good points about Nick being a better match for Adalind, but that's from a purely practical viewpoint, which rarely applies to love/lust.
I also wonder if Adalind herself considers being with Nick a possibility. Even if she loves him with all her heart and wants to be with him, I think she too might feel he will never forgive her for the past and/or that she doesn't have the right to ask him to.
Since she doesn't know everything about Meisner, he may seem like an easier fit. Plus, if Meisner offers her a chance to be with Diana again, I could see Adalind following him to the ends of the earth.
I suppose it depends on the perspective of each person watching the show, but I get the sense that they are trying to set up a love triangle and can't wait to see how it plays out.
