I have been noting the relationship between Hexenbiests and Grimm a lot recently also. I think Hexenbiests hide their true feelings, they are deceptive. They may fear Grimm's but are better than most Wesen in hiding that fear from others.
I sort of think a Grimm and a Hexenbiest are much the same thing. When it is you you call it a Grimm. When it is someone else you call it is a Hexenbiest. Like saying I am being realistic when I don't like you, the other guy however is a bitch when he does it.
I think of how many Wesen the Grimm's kill and shrug it off as justified. Aunt Marie, Kelly Burkhardt, even Nick never grieve over their victims any more than Renard or Adalind do.
Just a thought, but I think a Grimm is more bitchy than they realize. At least to Blutbaden, Eisbibers and most other Wesen a Grimm is as frightening or more so than a Hexenbiest is.
I don't see Nick in that way. Perhaps other Grimms have been cold blooded in the past, But I think Nick sincerely regrets the things he has to do. But, he does have to do them. Never easy, never forgotten. Been there myself back in the day when I wore the uniform.
Yes I see your point. I do not believe in moral relativism either. There is a standard of right and wrong and Nick upholds that. I was pointing out that to everyone their actions are justified in their own eyes and Hexenbiests may be Grimm's who use their powers for self agrandizement instead of being fair and just to all. There is nothing wrong with looking out for yourself, but you can do that and be sensitive to other's perspective. I think Nick and Trubel try to be fair to all sides. Sometimes the fair thing to do is to cut off the heads of people who won't listen to reason. On the flip side, Hexenbiests have a certain right to protect themselves. Not aggress against others the way Adalind put spells on people. But she thought she was in the right. From her perspective she was defending herself. Doesn't mean she was, just that that is how she saw it. Therefore a Grimm and a Hexenbiest may be similiar in powers just one is interested in right and wrong, and the other not so much. What differs between them is morality not powers.
