I was referring to Cersei when I said a character was raped without it being acknowledged as such. Supposedly, that scene in the Sept wasn't meant to be a rape but it certainly was as it was depicted on screen and the director took the brunt of the blame for it. See how ridiculous that is and why I say the writers weren't equipped to deal with rape.
Sansa's rape was a different story. The main problems with her was changing her story to get her raped and doing it an unbelievable way. The amount of bullshit the writers did just to get her in that position made it even more insulting. I already detailed this in the GoT thread so I won't repeat it here.
Also in Sansa's case, I was referring to the part of the fandom that were adamant about her not being raped because she was married. Apparently, it's not rape unless the guy can be brought up on charges.
I wonder how often these writers consult experts on controversial topics. I doubt the Grimm and the GoT writers do because I get the impression they probably didn't see them as controversial enough to consult any experts.
This conversation just further shows that we're on completely different wavelengths. Adalind also raped Hank. He even referred to it as being roofied if he didn't know any better. The use of magic probably makes them think it's not rape even though the genders being reversed would cause a major outcry.
Furthermore, just look what happened on OUaT which is a family-friendly show that aired on Sundays on ABC in primetime. Regina had the Huntsman's heart which meant he had to do whatever she told him to do. She was sleeping with him for years and that was never acknowledged as rape either. Network TV is able to get away with a lot of stuff because many people won't think rape as long as someone isn't getting violently assaulted.
