In the beginning of season 5 and beyond Nick tries to open a mysterious door in his new house. Does he ever open it? If so, whats inside?

Yes, he does. The door leads to more tunnels. It basically what Nick was hoping for, another way out. One of the tunnels leads to a rusted door that leads back outside to street level.

That was the door Monroe and Rosalee eventually found a path out of those tunnels.
