Of all the characters, Nick and Adalind seem to share a similar type of arc/journey but from two sides until baby Kelly comes into the picture. They were each other's firsts grimm and wesen, both their mothers were killed, both lost and regained their powers, both "lost" their first born child temporarily and ultimately found something worthwhile in each other. If I didn't know better, I'd say the writers actually planned them from the beginning but I don't think it was.

Your aunt Marie warned him about how would change his life by being a "GRIMM",the risks that would have. She spoke of that gift was a curse. But she does not seem to have left behind her life as "GRIMM", after Nick began his life in Portland.
I think that the breath of his relationship with Juliette began on the day of the wedding of Monroe and Rosalee.
Juliette was upset about what did Adalind and What happened later separate them.
I do not think Nick was better with a partner "GRIMM" or "Wesen". If he had said something like that to Juliette would have been discrimination. Supposedly Nick' s aunt left her boyfriend "Wesen" that would be because Nick was a human and would not want to expose it before a see "Woge". Did not know if it would be a "GRIMM".
