The new book is a Harry Potter book based on a play written by J. K. Rowling and others. The play had it's world premier in London today. You can read a blurb about it on Amazon.com. Smile

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a 2001 book Rowling published under the name Newt Scamander. It was mentioned as one of Harry Potter's first year schoolbooks in the first HP novel, and the book includes margin notes supposedly written by Harry, Ron and Hermoine.

The movie adaptation/s is/are about Newt Scamander, and presumably about the adventures that result in that character writing the book.

Do you mean Casual Vacancy ?
Its about life in a small village in England. Present day. No magic involved. Local politics, social issues.
I haven't read it but it did not get good reviews. It also broke all kinds of records for fastest sales. there has been talk about developing a mini series.

Or
Do you mean The Cormoran Strike novels. JK uses a pseudonym, Robert Galbraith. I've read the first two. The Cuckoo's Calling and the Silkworm.
I think there is a third. but i haven't read it yet.
But the ones I read were just terrific. They are Traditional Noir detective stories. Modern Day London. Cormoran Strike is the name of the hardbitten, down on his luck, Detective - Hero. Robin is his "temporary secretary". she is a marvelous character and you can't help but fall in love with her a little.
