The only other American show that I watch Smile Who watches House too?

I liked House a lot, I watched the episodes periodically through its run, and when I got Hulu Plus, I watched the last season. I think it's my favorite medical drama, although ER was pretty good too. But they were pretty different shows, and I liked the unconventional methods of House. When I get the chance, I'll definitely watch through the series.

I really liked it up until the last 2-3 seasons ... and didn't watch much after that, to be honest. The earliest seasons were the strongest. I think that House has probably changed perceptions of medical dramas in a lot of ways -- that black or gallows humor is commonplace in a high pressure field, main characters needn't be "likeable" but "understandable" (in their motives) ...

The Sherlockian inspiration was also fantastic.

I've seen a few episodes of House - but I'm not a fan. My sister loved it almost right to the end, too. I think after so many seasons they ran out of diseases.

Check out the first episode of the first season of The West Wing. Lisa Edelstein plays a young expensive call girl. Its even a re-occuring role.

and not a great show but it is British, you can check out Jeeves and Wooster (1990 - 1993 TV show) Where Hugh Laurie plays Wooster. I am a huge fan of the books the show is based on, so i watched a bunch of the episodes, but as true too often, the books were way better than the tv show.

I think House was great for the first two seasons. I think it's really just a very overrated show following those first two seasons. The writing took a nosedive and I even felt that some of the actors had checked out in the last few seasons.

There were also some terrible decisions by the showrunners that I thought prematurely sunk the quality of the show. The way that many of the characters were used dismissed their earlier characterization which led to a ton of inconsistency. Even House became a boring character. The may not be a popular opinion but I found him to be uninteresting whenever he wasn't obsessed with his cases which happened far too often in the latter half of the show. And the less said about Cuddy, Foreman, and the new team the better.
