Wow. What a great episode. And so much going on. I'm not sure this is a criticism as much as just an observation. the longer story arcs are all treading water. I guess I'm worried that the writers will draw them out too long - like they did in season one and two.

So, I was totally surprised that Josh showed up again. I had realized at the time that the writers had left that door open but I hadn't expected him to show up. I can't even imagine what the writers have in mind for him.

I did predict that Nick would have to sleep with Juliette while she looked liked Adalind. The discussion the gang had about it was well written. At first I was thinking Juliette and Nick came around too quickly. But Juliette did overhear Bud and Trubel talking and then the attack on Monroe and Rosalee.....And we had already seen Nick getting frustrated without his powers. So, it seems like that it works right. anyway, looks like Nick will get his powers back soon.

No Chavez.... but the writers continue to have Trubel develop. I find her development real interesting to watch. I liked it that she was conflicted about not cutting Shay's head off.

And they still haven't told Wu. but now the Captain has put on a time limit on it. So we ought to see that part of the story come to a head soon.

The Adalind story made a little progress. But i can't figure out where they are going with it.

Nice little Wesson of the week episode. Although they have to spend time with all the sup-plots they seem to always put the wesson of the week center stage. I like the way they have been mixing it up. The use of litter mates was a brand new twist. We had one scene with all four Luisons in the frame. I wonder if they called the Orphan Black people for technical assistance. Anyone know anything about Luisons? the name sounds more French than Spanish to me. Are there wolves in South America?

I used to keep track of this but I stopped - but lots of Woges in this episode. Blutbad, Luison, Half- Zauberbiest, Eisenbeber, the guys in Josh's house and Shay.

Oh and again we see some more examples of great homes. Renard's new digs are impressive but Eva's house is really terrific. Even Monroe thinks so.

A couple of thoughts...

1. This episode explains how he does it:

2. The laws of narrativium dictate that Juliette will need to wear both of Adalind's faces while Nick is getting his Grimm back.

RE: S4E05 - Cry Luison - speakeasy - 11-22-2014

So here's the plan, drink this potion and you'll turn into Adalind. Then go sleep with Nick and he can get his Grimm powers back. Pffffft, piece of cake. What a mess.

As impossible as that scenario seems, I think Adalind's is even worse. Don't know where that situation is headed but I know it can't be good. Even if it could somehow be twisted into the J/A body switch to get at Adalind while she's close up and personal, I wouldn't want Juliette to have her moment while Adalind is on her emotional knees (doesn't seem fair). But the idea of Juliette somehow having temporary access to A's hexenbiest powers is intriguing. Smile Thanks to Gaultheria for pointing that out!

It was inappropriate, but I chuckled at how the baby she was holding morphed into what looked like the GEICO pig in Adalind's waking nightmare.

Wonder what the writers have in mind with Josh coming back, may have something to do with the keys.

Great WOTW story. Litter mates, good one.

Loves Renard's new place and it looks like Elizabeth is going on a quest to find her granddaughter from a few of things they said.

It was a big episode, which could have had many Easter eggs in it, but who had time to look for them. Smile

RE: S4E05 - Cry Luison - Altered Realtity - 11-22-2014

That was a busy episode! Some random thoughts.

The whole VoW plot is a rather cliched one, so it was nice that they found a way to give it a twist with the litter.

I like Renard's new home and the scene with his mother was great. When she insisted he woge for her, he looked like a little boy doing having to do something he found embarrassing because Mama said so Big Grin I wonder how much of her we're going to see now that she's going to be off looking for the baby?

Josh is back, didn't expect to see him again so soon. Poor guy, the universe seems to have decided he's it's new punching bag. Hope he gets somewhere safe soon. I do wonder if this is leading into having yet another Grimm show up though. It was left open for him to become one, hmmmm. Not sure if I want that.

Poor Adalind, what was *in* that brownie? Silly girl should have known better than to accept food from creepy weird guy though. And I now understand the BTS pic Claire posted a while back (apparently pigs think fruit roll-ups are a good snack).

So, I expect Teresa, Bud and the rest are going to be having a very hard time over the next little while. She was right, probably should have just taken that guy's head off. That said, hope this story leads to us seeing Teresa interacting with Bud's family.

As for Nick regaining his powers and how that needs to happen, well, hope they lay in a supply of viagra and yep, keep the lights *off*. Ahem.

And on that, while I'm glad that Juliette has chosen so decisively, I do not like what compelled her decision. That burning symbol? People threatening Monroe and Rosalee? DO NOT WANT! It's a story line with a lot of room to tell some very interesting stories, but I don't like it.

Finally TELL WU! Glad the Captain has put a timeline on this.

Did anyone else notice the Alice in Wonderland references in Adalind's dream-quest? From nearly drowning in a puddle of her own tears to having a baby turn into a piglet.

Yep, pretty sure the head in a basket was a twisted reference to the Cheshire cat. And then I don't think it's a coincidence that eating a "magic" brownie (or whatever that was) started this all off. Just saying.

Could Luison be Portuguese? The hubby was Brazilian, and there are a lot of Portuguese sounds which resemble French. I also looked up alternative spellings and found:

Louison (French from Germanic) meaning fame, loud; fighter, warrior

Since the hubby was Brazilian and Louis would be Luis in Portuguese, perhaps there is a bit of artistic license here?

There were many Alice in Wonderland references. I was also thinking the weird guy with the red beard is suppose to be rumpelstiltskin.

Looks like Monroe knew what to do all along. I think it will take Nick some time before being fully grimm again. Truble is fearless.

A "like" from me!

Josh – perhaps he will be the writer’s choice to park Trubel elsewhere. He lives in Philadelphia, that’s East Coast. It took Josh seven episodes to get home again! I think he’s on the journey back to Portland right now, where else can he go? Hopefully by plane this time Big Grin. Trubel could fall in love with him, move into his house, "take care" of all the Wesen who may threaten him. Far enough away to stay off the screen.

Trubel – she was really, really good in this episode. Perhaps I’m going to miss her after all. But Shaw is a Klaustreich? That’s not how I remember them.

I don’t like the Adalind-part of the recent episodes. She acts so silly and it’s just boring, everyone knows it’s not real, so why do the writers waste so much minutes? On the other hand, if I was more familiar with Alice in Wonderland, I would maybe be fascinated. Usually I love parallels with fairy-tales. And: the sign "the door on the other side" was cute.

Nick: "I like being a Grimm."
Yeah. That’s what I wanted to hear. Can’t wait for next week’s episode!
