This is one of my favorite episodes. I rank it right up there with "La Llarona" and a few others. The only thing I didn't like very much was the surreal scenes with Juliette beginning to get her memory back. Thought it was kind of a distraction from the main plot line, a little to much of it. Other than that excellent! Smile

The main plot line with the two psycho wesen killers and their partner (Poor Gus, no honor among thieves!Sad) was really good, even if well traveled. The two young actors who played the roles did them very well and the characters were well written.

Some of the side lines were very interesting indeed! We get a lot of information from this episode if your paying attention!

We find out about the Wesen Council, Rosalee's conection to the Council and what appears to be the first agreement between wesen and grimms.

Renard tells Nick something about just how important both he and the keys are to a 'lot of people'. So important that he and Nick "could make history".

Renard has the same contact with the Wesen Council as Rosalee. Hmmm? Dodgy

Hank is finally filled in on pretty much everything that is happening. Poor guy's head must have been ready to explode! Big Grin

Some of the funnies: (Monroe as usual.)

Monroe trying to be Joe Slick - Undercover Guy in the wesen bar! Poor Monroe!Tongue

Spinach, Basil, Walnut, Maple Puree Syrup! Jeez, Monroe! I'd rather die young! Tongue

I shall post more of my brilliant insights and deductions based on the info from this episode on The Stupid Theory Thread!! Big Grin

RE: S02E14 - Natural Born Wesen - speakeasy - 08-29-2014

I thought it was a pretty good episode. The story was a good vehicle to introduce the Wesen Council and its function to viewers. And to connect Rosalee historically with her responsibility to them. The Captain was smart enough to alert the Council to rid his town of a threat to the wesen community before it went any further, those fools were talking about a plan to get other wesen to follow their example; sawdust for brains.

That crazy couple was just begging to be killed and had no redeeming qualities, so it was easy to think 'good riddance to bad rubbish'. The WC is charged with keeping the wesen community from exploiting humans while in wesen form, and by gosh, they're gonna do it. Big Grin

We saw a few faces in the spice shop scene that will show up again in another episode.

Wasn't exactly a heart to heart, but a sort of uncomfortable truce seemed to be reached between Nick and the Captain in this episode, so now they can continue to work together and that had to be established for future programming.

I like this episode, especially Monroe in the bar. Big Grin

Good actors, Krystal reminds me of Angelina, Blutbad girls are something special!

What I learned in this episode: in America you have to dial 011 first when you make an international call. In Europe we dial 00, so now I know why international numbers start with a "+". It depends from where you are calling.
Watching Grimm makes Gretel smarter Big Grin.

I liked this episode the first and second time around. For me, the highlights were the Wesen Council and Rosalee's roll in taking up the family mantle, so to speak. It's one of the better bits of worldbuilding in the show and it explains why wesen manage to stay so well hidden.
