Spoilers: The Flash (you have been warned) - grimmfreak - 08-07-2014

It seems ‘The Flash’ may be casting the Reverse-Flash & Killer Frost,...
Very interesting... I really like Killer Frost and Reverse Flash makes a lot of sense.

and...
Wentworth Miller has been cast as ‘Captain Cold’; and an ‘Arrow’ crossover has been planned!
Anyone else think this is awesome!

I have such high hopes for this show, and with the potential cross pollination between this and Arrow I think we are looking at a solid accompaniment to Arrow and another good show added to the CW line-up.

I have to say that I have never been a big DC fan. However Arrow has been great from what I've seen, the Flash looks very promising as does Constantine and Gotham may be good.

Marvel's offerings on the other hand have been less consistent. AoS has only just started to get good.

I will say that AoS took a lot of setting up, and a bit like Babylon 5 which took an entire season to lay the groundwork for the shows ultimate arc. AoS at least saw some payoff in the last third of the first season, especially with the crossover plot with Winter Soldier. AoS has the potential to lead the way in the Marvel Universe if the writers, studio etc. can have the courage of their convictions, and follow through with decent plots. The ensemble cast is more than good enough to pull off anything the writers can come up with and with a little coordination we could lay much of the ground work for stuff that comes up in the future Marvel movies.

While all this is true, DC is leaps and bounds ahead of marvel in terms of the TV universe. Marvel of course is kicking butt with the MCU.

May I ask what you base that assertion on, I grant that Arrow is an excellent show and the DC animated movies and animated TV shows are wonderful, but beyond this I can't think of anything else. I absolutely hated Smallville (but that probably just meTongue), perhaps it's the miserable old codger in me but teenage angst seriously sucks the fun out everything, and love triangles have a limited shelf life, and the fact Clarke never got his cape... Arrow suffers a little from this (but only a very little Smile), why the character isn't called by his real comic book nom de plume really irks me.

RE: Spoilers: The Flash (you have been warned) - grimmfreak - 08-07-2014

I guess I base it on the success of DC's shows... 10 seasons of Smallville, 2 of Arrow and now the highly anticipated Flash and the slightly less anticipated but also promising Constantine... (We can throw in Gotham as an attempt at something that good) That's 2 successful shows and 3 more in the offing.

Marvel has 1 season of AoS under it's belt and that was tenuous. Even with Agent Carter added, DC is in the lead.

BTW I am not arguing the about how good the shows are here but their success/anticipation level. I am much more a fan of marvel but DC has done a better job on the TV side.

I wasn't disagreeing with you, I was just wondering on what basis you made the assertion. Now explained you are absolutely right, though I will argue until I'm blue in the face that Smallville should never have gone more than a season, but when I get a bug up my butt about a show I can be very unforgiving Tongue
