An early renewal is kind of surprising. I enjoy the show but I'm a sucker for anything scifi so I know my standards are low. To me it feels like they are having a hard time balancing the comedy with the drama. MacFarlane is a funny guy but some of his shtick falls flat here for me. Some nice looking ladies though so I'll keep watching while it's on.

The comedy often falls flat for me too. However, I find the stories themselves surprisingly good, so I am glad to read the show is renewing.
